WHO IS EMILY MCKINNEY?
Meet Emily...
Emily McKinney is a performance-driven fitness coach, choreographer, and vocal technician based in Waxahachie, TX.
With a B.S. in Exercise Science and certifications through NASM and AAFA, she blends science-backed training with real-world stage experience to help performers — and theatre-loving humans — build strength, stamina, and confidence that translates directly into performance and life.
Emily’s background spans tap, jazz, ballet, modern dance, martial arts, and competitive swing. She is a black belt in Taekwondo and trained extensively in modern dance and vocal performance at BYU. But it was performing over 500 shows in four months in Nauvoo — along with roles like Evita — that shaped her true specialty:
Preparing bodies and voices for real performance demands — and creating spaces where people feel free to go full out.
Through Theatre Fitness and her workshops for high schools, universities, and state Thespian festivals (including Texas and Georgia Thespians), Emily helps:
-
Performers build choreography retention and stamina
-
Directors strengthen ensemble confidence and performance quality
-
Adults reconnect with movement that feels expressive, powerful, and fun
Her work is known for big energy, clarity, and permission.
Permission to move unapologetically.
Permission to feel the music.
Permission to stop shrinking and start performing — whether on stage or in a studio.
Her mission isn’t just to help people “get through” a show or a workout.
It’s to equip them with tools, confidence, and freedom so they can step into rooms — rehearsals, auditions, classrooms, or life — stronger and fully themselves.

The T-Fit approach is not always a subtle one. There is little time for self-doubt as students quickly lean into learning. The direction is basic, clear, and progresses in layers. Students remain in motion and receive as much training time as possible with strategic coaching and motivation throughout. Learning comes quickly as students feel and move through the body, vocal cords, and core. Each success creates positive momentum that helps them overcome insecurities and limiting beliefs. Training and repetition of correct technique builds skill. It’s just like strengthening muscles; when we manipulate frequency, intensity, and duration, we reap specific results.
